The interim government has revoked the passports of 97 individuals, including the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, for their alleged involvement in killings during the July uprising and incidents of enforced disappearances. Of the 97, 22 individuals lost their passports due to their roles in enforced disappearances, while the remaining 75 were implicated in the killings during the July uprising. This information was shared by Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, the deputy press secretary of the chief adviser, during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka this evening. He specifically mentioned that Sheikh Hasina was among those whose passports were revoked.

This move followed the International Crimes Tribunal's (ICT) issuance of arrest warrants against Sheikh Hasina and 11 others in connection with enforced disappearances. The tribunal has directed that the accused be arrested and presented in court on February 12. The order was issued by ICT Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder and member Md Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury on Monday, aiming to ensure a thorough and effective investigation.
