Imports of e-cigarettes prohibited
The government has enforced a ban on the import of e-cigarettes to safeguard public health.
The Ministry of Commerce recently issued a circular regarding this measure, stating that the ban will take effect as soon as possible.
E-cigarettes are classified as electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) products.
This decision follows a government initiative taken nearly a month ago to limit the importation of all e-cigarette-related products in order to protect public health and prevent harm to future generations.
On December 12 of the previous year, the interim government's Advisory Council approved a proposal to add e-cigarettes to the list of prohibited imported goods under the current import policy issued by the Ministry of Commerce.
The approval was granted during a meeting of the council at the Chief Adviser's Office, presided over by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
