Tilak Varma has been called up as his replacement, giving the young batter another chance to shine in the Indian jersey. The first match of the three-game T20 series is scheduled for this evening in Gwalior. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed Dube's absence and Varma's inclusion on the eve of the series. Dube has been dealing with a back injury that also kept him out of Mumbai's squad for the Irani Trophy. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma is set to return to India's T20 side after nearly a year.
