AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers: Bangladesh Crush Singapore To Register Consolation Victory

Bangladesh U-23 National Football Team Overpower Singapore 4-1 In Final AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifier
Bangladesh’s under-23 football team wrapped up their AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers campaign with a resounding 4-1 victory over Singapore in their third and final group match on Tuesday at Viet Tri Stadium in Vietnam.
Having suffered narrow defeats against Vietnam (0-2) and Yemen (0-1) in their earlier outings, the young Red-and-Greens seized the opportunity to restore pride in their closing game.
After a goalless first half, Bangladesh came alive in the second, netting four goals within just 12 minutes. Fahamedul Islam broke the deadlock in the 70th minute, quickly followed by Al-Amin two minutes later. Mohsin Ahmed extended the lead in the 78th, while Sheikh Morsalin capped the flurry with a strike in the 82nd.
Singapore managed a consolation through Nadim in stoppage time, but the result had long been sealed. Morsalin even came close to adding a fifth moments later.
Despite the dominant win, Bangladesh finished third in the group and failed to advance to the next stage. In the other decisive fixture, Vietnam and Yemen — both unbeaten — were set to clash for the top spot and a direct ticket to the Asian Cup.
