Heavy rains that began on Wednesday evening have caused significant disruptions across Dhaka, with many streets and alleyways submerged, resulting in widespread suffering for residents. Light rain persists, adding to the challenges faced by those attempting to go about their daily routines. Waterlogging in areas like Shantinagar, Bailey Road, Dhanmondi, and Old Dhaka has led to a reduction in vehicles, making commuting difficult for office workers and students alike. Students like Jitu Sarkar from Ideal School and Ayan Ahmed from Universal Tutorial School described their struggles, with Jitu noting increased transport fares and Ayan mentioning the need to wade through knee-deep water. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department reported that more rain, accompanied by gusty winds, is expected across various regions, with temperatures possibly falling by 1-3°C nationwide.
