RAB has seized the firearms used in the shooting of Osman Hadi in Narsingdi and arrested one suspect in connection with the incident

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered the firearms and ammunition used in the shooting of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Osman Hadi and arrested one person in connection with the incident in Narsingdi.

The recovery was made on December 16 from Taruar Beel, in front of Molla’s house in the Taruar area under Narsingdi Sadar Police Station. According to RAB, the seized items include two foreign-made pistols, two magazines, one toy pistol, and 41 rounds of ammunition. The weapons were reportedly thrown into the water after the attack.

RAB arrested Md Faisal, 25, in connection with the case. Further investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest others involved.

Earlier, on December 15, RAB arrested Md Kabir, a close associate of prime accused Faisal Karim Masud, over the attempted daylight assassination of Osman Hadi in the capital’s Paltan area. This was confirmed in a RAB press release issued the same night.

Prior to that, RAB also detained Masud’s wife Samia, his friend Monika, and his brother-in-law Shipu in connection with the shooting.

Sharif Osman Hadi, who is also an aspiring candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot on Friday. He was later flown to Singapore for advanced medical treatment by an air ambulance, which departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:55pm on Monday.
