China proposes collaboration to strengthen the judiciary
A three-member Chinese delegation, led by Ambassador Yao Wen, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on Monday.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged greetings and discussed the long-standing historical relations between Bangladesh and China. The Chinese envoy commended the various initiatives undertaken by Bangladesh’s Chief Justice to institutionalize the country’s judiciary.
Ambassador Yao Wen expressed his belief that the strong leadership of the Chief Justice would play a pivotal role in promoting good governance and ensuring justice in Bangladesh in the future.
The ambassador also informed the Chief Justice that China is ready to offer full support to Bangladesh in strengthening its judiciary.
He proposed the implementation of special training programs in collaboration with judges from both countries to foster mutual exchange between their judicial systems and extended an invitation to the Chief Justice to visit China.
Chief Justice Refaat Ahmed reaffirmed his commitment to establishing the rule of law in post-revolution Bangladesh and assured the Chinese ambassador of the Bangladesh Supreme Court’s full cooperation in enhancing the judicial relationship between the two nations.
He also highlighted that the judiciary of post-revolution Bangladesh is dedicated to upholding the highest protection of human rights in the country.
