Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan today said that the people of Bangladesh, especially the youth, will stand firm against fascism and defeat any future conspiracies to bring it back.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the newly constructed July Martyrs Memorial Monument in front of the Government Public Library in Natore this morning.

Adilur, who also serves as Industries Adviser, said that although fascism was defeated in the past, attempts are still being made to revive it. “The youth and people of this country will never allow fascism to return,” he asserted.

Paying tribute to the July martyrs as “the children of this country’s sun,” the adviser recalled their unshakable dedication and ultimate sacrifice.

“The nation will remember them forever,” he said, highlighting their struggle against fascism, extrajudicial killings, and violations of human rights.

He added that their fight for freedom, which united the people of Bangladesh, ultimately led to victory through the historic 36-day July movement.

Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen presided over the ceremony, while Housing and Public Works Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam and Natore Police Superintendent Mohammad Tariqul Islam also addressed the event.

Earlier, the adviser visited the graves of five martyrs at different graveyards in Natore town.

During his two-day visit, he also toured the Uttara Ganabhaban and met families of July martyrs at the Natore Circuit House.
