"We Oppose War, But Readiness Is Essential: CA Yunus"
"Lack of Preparedness Could Be Suicidal for Us, He Warns"

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Kashmir attack, Chief Adviser Prof. Mohammad Yunus firmly stated his opposition to war during a visit to Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker in Dhaka on Wednesday.
"I strongly object to war and do not support it in any form," he declared after observing a military exercise and addressing air force personnel.
Warning of the risks posed by a volatile regional climate, Yunus stressed the need for national preparedness. “We live in a world constantly under the shadow of war. If we are not fully prepared, it could prove suicidal for us,” he cautioned.
Referring to an unverified report suggesting the possibility of imminent conflict, he added, “Even if such reports turn out to be false, we cannot afford complacency. Our preparation must be comprehensive and unwavering.”
Praising the BAF’s progress, Yunus commended its efforts to stay aligned with global standards and urged personnel to stay proactive in safeguarding national sovereignty. He emphasized that the government is committed to equipping the force with cutting-edge technology to enhance its professional capabilities.
"We must work together to build a strong and developed nation," he affirmed.
Turning to the broader political landscape, the chief adviser criticized the former Awami League government, blaming it for damaging the country's economic foundation. He stressed the urgent need to overcome the current challenges to ensure the nation's overall readiness.
