Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced a Tk50 lakh reward for information leading to the arrest of the attackers of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday (13 December) after a Law and Order Core Committee meeting at the Secretariat, he urged the public to pray for Hadi’s recovery. “Everyone should pray for him. With the prayers of all, he may return to us,” he said.
The adviser emphasized the need to increase arrests of fascist elements. He also noted that while weapons were previously issued only to government officials, election candidates can now apply for licensed firearms. Any licensed weapons currently held by authorities will be returned to their owners.
