Four people lost their lives in an explosion at a CNG filling station in Lakshmipur while a bus was refueling. The incident occurred on Sunday night at the Green Leaf filling station in Ward No. 11 of Lakshmipur Municipality.

The bus, named ‘Maisha Ikra Classic,’ operated under the ‘Classic Meghna’ banner, according to Abdul Manaf, the chief of Sadar Police Station. Three people were killed instantly in the blast, and a fourth victim died later. The deceased have been identified as Hridoy, 19, a motor mechanic from Rajibpur village, Yusuf, 32, from Banchanagar village, and Sujon, 25, from Charmansha village in Sadar Upazila.

Fourteen others were injured, several in critical condition, with some sustaining severe injuries, including the loss of limbs. Dr. Jainal Abedin from the Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital’s Emergency Department confirmed that the injured were being transferred to hospitals in Lakshmipur and Dhaka for further treatment.
