The IGP has been urged to take a more effective role in maintaining law and order.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir has urged police personnel to play a more proactive and effective role in maintaining law and order across the country.
He made the call while speaking as the chief guest at an Eid reunion programme held at Police Headquarters on Tuesday (24 March), the first working day after the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
The IGP noted that members of the Highway Police, Traffic Police, district police, and other relevant units carried out their duties with sincerity and dedication, ensuring safe and comfortable travel for people returning home during the Eid period.
During the event, the police chief exchanged Eid greetings with officers of various ranks, personnel, and civil staff at Police Headquarters, extending his post-Eid wishes.
Additional IGPs, heads of different Dhaka-based units, as well as officials and staff of Police Headquarters, were also present.
