The Chief Advisor is expected to announce the election timeline within the next 4–5 days

Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Chairman Mostafa Jamal Haider on Saturday said that Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus is likely to announce the date of the upcoming parliamentary elections within the next four to five days.

Speaking to the media after a meeting between Prof Yunus and representatives of 14 political parties at the state guest house Jamuna in the capital, he said, “The chief adviser mentioned he would announce the election schedule within four to five days. Nothing could be more welcome than this news.”

Haider expressed hope that the election would bring an end to the ongoing political unrest and help address several other pressing issues.

Prior to this, the chief adviser held two rounds of meetings with leaders from different political parties and alliances, including the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.

On Saturday afternoon, he met with leaders of 14 additional parties and alliances.
