Stocks show a mixed performance in early trading
Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) kicked off positively on Thursday, the last working day of the week.
In contrast, the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced an early drop in its overall index.
At the start of the session, DSE's benchmark index, the DSEX, rose by 10 points.
Among the other indices, the Shariah-compliant DSES gained 1 point, and the blue-chip DS30 added 6 points, according to UNB.
The DSE’s initial trading volume was recorded at Tk 400 million.
Out of the listed companies, 129 saw their share prices rise, 73 declined, and 65 remained unchanged.
Meanwhile, the CSE’s overall index dropped by 4 points at the start of its session.
At the CSE, 10 companies saw their share prices go up, 8 dropped, and 1 remained steady. The total turnover at the CSE in the early phase of trading stood at Tk 23.20 million.
