Pre-Registration Begins for 2027 Hajj Pilgrimage

Pre-registration for Bangladeshis planning to perform Hajj in 2027 begins today and will remain open until 24 September, in line with the schedule set by the Ministry of Religious Affairs following the roadmap announced by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

Prospective pilgrims must complete the pre-registration process within the stipulated timeframe. Registration will be available through the e-Hajj system under both government and private management.

To begin the process, each applicant must pay Tk30,000 for pre-registration. They must then deposit Tk350,000 to complete the initial registration. Pilgrims who complete the initial registration will have to pay the remaining balance of their chosen Hajj package and complete the final registration by 10 December.

Those opting for the government arrangement can create an account on the e-Hajj portal and complete the registration online.

Registration services will also be available through Union Digital Centres, divisional and district offices of the Islamic Foundation, district and upazila model mosques, the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office, and the Dhaka Hajj Office.

Under the government scheme, pilgrims must deposit the required amount through a voucher at any branch of Sonali Bank. Those registering under private arrangements must pay the amount into the bank account designated by their selected Hajj agency, with account details available on the agency’s profile on the Hajj portal.

Applicants must possess a passport valid until at least 31 December 2027.

During the initial registration, pilgrims will be required to choose the district where they wish to receive Hajj training and vaccinations, specify the type of Hajj they intend to perform, and select a Hajj package.

Children under the age of 15 will not be eligible to perform Hajj. Individuals suffering from serious heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, or those undergoing chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy for cancer will also be ineligible.

People with active infectious diseases that pose a public health risk, including tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever, will not be permitted to perform Hajj. Additionally, women in the final two months of pregnancy or those with high-risk pregnancies will not be issued the medical fitness certificate required for the pilgrimage.
