The government has abolished the police verification process for issuing passports. Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus emphasized that obtaining a passport is a fundamental civil right.  

Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Foyez Ahammad, shared this information in a post on his verified Facebook account today, Sunday.  

According to Foyez Ahammad, the Chief Adviser announced this decision during the opening session of the Deputy Commissioners' Conference on Sunday. Dr. Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the conference at Shapla Hall in the Chief Adviser’s Office. The three-day conference will continue until Tuesday.  

During the event, Dr. Muhammad Yunus instructed deputy commissioners to remain vigilant in maintaining law and order across the country. Additionally, he urged them to implement necessary measures at the field level to control the prices of essential commodities.
