The US withdraws $29 million in funding for the Bangladesh crisis

The United States has scrapped a $29 million initiative aimed at enhancing Bangladesh's political landscape as President Donald Trump enforces budget cuts.

According to India Today, the announcement was made on Sunday by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Several countries, including Bangladesh, India, and Nepal, have lost millions in US funding under these cuts.

Among the cancelled programs is a $21 million initiative for India designed to boost voter participation in elections, as revealed by DOGE on X.

These funding reductions reflect a shift in US foreign aid priorities and a broader effort to limit spending on international development projects.
