PM, Robi Axiata CEO Hold Talks on Telecom Investment and 5G Expansion

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday held a meeting with Nick Rizal Kamil Nik Ibrahim Kamil, chief executive officer of Robi Axiata Group, where they discussed investment opportunities in Bangladesh’s telecommunications sector and the country’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.

The courtesy call took place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur at 2:50pm local time.

The discussions focused on increasing investment in Bangladesh’s telecom industry, enhancing digital infrastructure and expediting the nationwide deployment of fifth-generation (5G) mobile services.

During the meeting, Axiata Group praised Bangladesh’s investor-friendly budget and expressed appreciation to the prime minister for introducing initiatives designed to attract and facilitate greater investment in the country.
