No Possibility Of Lifting Ban On AL Activities Soon: Asif Nazrul

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has ruled out the possibility of lifting the ban on the activities of the ousted Awami League anytime soon.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after visiting a Puja Mandap at Sree Sree Sankar Math in Barishal city.
“When a party’s activities are banned, the question arises whether it is temporary or permanent. I don’t see any possibility of the ban on Awami League activities being lifted soon,” the adviser said.
Dr. Nazrul also announced that the next national elections will be held in the first half of February 2026.
On the issue of unrest in the Chattogram Hill Tracts, he stated that the government will take measures against those responsible.
During his visit, the adviser also exchanged greetings with leaders of the Hindu community.
Barishal Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Delwar Hussain, Superintendent of Police Md. Sharif Uddin, Sree Sree Sankar Math Barishal Committee President Kanu Lal Saha, and former General Secretary Tammay Topu, among others, were present.
