New Government Committee Formed to Review Amendments to Public Service Law
The ordinance includes provisions that could potentially be misused against government employees.

The government is preparing to form an advisory committee to review the “concerning aspects” of the Public Service (Amendment) Ordinance, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul said on Tuesday.
A section of Secretariat employees have been demonstrating against the amendments, describing the ordinance as a “black authoritarian law.”
Supporting the concerns raised by the protesters, Asif Nazrul stated that the ordinance includes provisions that could be exploited to target government employees.
“These provisions warrant thorough scrutiny,” he added.
“If I am appointed to the advisory committee, the legitimate demands of the workers will be given top priority, and proposals for necessary revisions will be drafted accordingly,” the law adviser told reporters.
