If the oath is delayed any longer, we’ll go ahead and hold it with the people of Dhaka, says Ishraque.

BNP leader Ishraque Hossain today issued a strong warning regarding the delay in his swearing-in as mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, cautioning that the city's residents may take matters into their own hands.
Speaking to reporters, Ishraque said, "If the oath-taking ceremony is not held without further delay, it will be organised by the people of Dhaka themselves. The residents of South Dhaka will decide who belongs in the mayor's seat—outsiders have no place in Nagar Bhaban."
He also announced a temporary pause in their ongoing political movement in light of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
"We are suspending our movement for now in consideration of Eid, but if our demands are not met, we will return to the streets with even greater strength," he warned.
