NCP Leaders to Hold Talks with Yunus After BNP-Jamaat Meetings

A delegation from the National Citizen Party (NCP), headed by Convener Nahid Islam, is set to meet Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guest house Jamuna at 8:30pm on Saturday, according to NCP Joint Member Secretary Mushfiq-us-Saleheen.

The meeting follows separate discussions the chief adviser held with leaders of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.

Mushfiq noted that the NCP delegation will also include Chief Organiser Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adib, and Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara.

Earlier, a four-member BNP delegation met with Prof Yunus as part of ongoing efforts to ease the country's escalating political tensions.

That meeting, led by BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, began at 7:35pm at the chief adviser’s official residence. The delegation also included Standing Committee members Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed.
