Major Fire Breaks Out at RMG Factory in Ashulia, 12 Firefighting Units Deployed

The Fire Service has deployed 12 units to battle a major blaze that broke out at a garment factory in Ashulia’s industrial area on Sunday evening.

At least nine people have been injured in the fire, with officials warning that the number of casualties could rise.

The fire broke out at the FNS factory of Preeti Group in Ashulia’s Jamgara area at around 7:50pm, reportedly after gas cylinders exploded at the site, said Somen Barua, a warehouse inspector at the Ashulia DEPZ Fire Service.

Four Fire Service units initially joined the firefighting operation, while additional units were delayed in traffic congestion at the Baipail intersection, he added.
