Khaleda Zia to join the Armed Forces Day reception ceremony

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is set to attend today’s (Friday) Armed Forces Day reception at Senakunja.

BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the development, saying she agreed to participate on the advice of her medical board. She is scheduled to leave her Gulshan residence at around 3:30 pm.

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus will attend the event as the chief guest.

Khaleda Zia last appeared at the Senakunja reception in 2023, marking her first public appearance since 2018. Prior to that, her last public engagement was on February 5, 2018, during a visit to Sylhet.

Invitations have also been sent to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and other senior party leaders.
