Jamaat rally underway at Suhrawardy Udyan
The programme officially began at 2:00pm with a recitation from the Holy Quran.

The national rally of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has officially kicked off at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, aimed at pressing the party’s seven-point demand.
The event formally began at 2:00pm with a recitation from the Holy Quran, as the venue overflowed with thousands of Jamaat supporters from across the country.
Crowds of activists continued to pour in, arriving in processions while chanting slogans and carrying banners in favour of the demands.
Jamaat Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman is presiding over the rally.
The massive turnout not only packed Suhrawardy Udyan but also spilled over into surrounding roads and Ramna Park, bringing vehicular traffic in the area to a standstill and forcing many commuters to proceed on foot.
Earlier in the day, the rally’s first phase began at 9:40am with a cultural segment featuring participation from leaders and members of Jamaat and its student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir.
