Jamaat Leader Calls on All ‘Anti-Fascist Forces’ to Show Responsibility
Amid Rising BNP-NCP Tensions, Jamaat Chief Issues Call for Responsibility

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has called on all “anti-fascist” forces to set aside anger, disappointment, and mutual grievances, and act with responsibility in the interest of the nation.
In a Facebook post published Thursday afternoon, Dr Rahman issued the appeal against the backdrop of escalating tensions between the BNP and the NCP.
While the NCP spearheaded last year’s anti-government movement against the Awami League, the BNP is also widely seen as a key player in the campaign. Though he did not name either party, the Jamaat chief urged all “anti-fascist forces” to act with foresight and a deep sense of national responsibility.
He also offered prayers for the protection and well-being of the people of Bangladesh.
Earlier the same day, amid BNP-led protests demanding the resignation of two government advisers accused of having ties with the NCP, Dr Rahman made a separate post. In it, he urged all sides—implicitly including both the BNP and NCP—to refrain from engaging in sensitive or divisive issues, emphasizing that the current crisis demands constructive rather than destructive actions.
