Jamaat Demands Unconditional Apology

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, on Tuesday extended an unconditional apology to anyone affected by the actions or behavior of the party or its members.

“As a political party, we do not claim infallibility. If our activities or the conduct of our members have caused harm or distress to anyone, we sincerely seek their forgiveness,” Dr. Rahman stated during an emergency press briefing at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in Dhaka. The briefing followed the Supreme Court’s decision to acquit party leader ATM Azharul Islam of war crimes, overturning his previous death sentence.

He added, “If our behavior or performance has caused any pain, we humbly ask to be forgiven.”
