PM honours winners of international Quran recitation competition
Tarique Rahman pledges government recognition for outstanding achievements
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday honoured Bangladeshi Hafez who secured prizes at an international Holy Quran recitation competition in Saudi Arabia last August, saying the government would seek to recognise outstanding achievements by talented citizens at the state level.
He made the remarks while hosting a reception for the prize-winning Hafez who participated in the 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition in Saudi Arabia.
The reception was held at the Cabinet Division conference room at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Thursday (17 September).
Congratulating the winners, the prime minister said their success was not only a personal achievement but also a source of pride for Muslims across Bangladesh.
Referring to the government’s initiative to encourage and honour Hafez, Tarique Rahman said it was the government’s policy to recognise the achievements of talented young citizens who excel through their merit and abilities.
He stressed the importance of encouraging talented individuals and ensuring proper recognition of their accomplishments.
“If we can encourage talented people and ensure proper recognition of their abilities, future generations and the country will certainly benefit,” he said.
