A new iPhone 17 Air leak, shared by prominent leaker MajinBu, has sparked fresh speculation about Apple’s next major design shift. The video, posted on X, allegedly shows a dummy unit of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air — a strikingly slim device measuring just 5.5mm thick. Although the unit is non-functional, its ultra-thin profile aligns with earlier reports that Apple is planning to launch a minimalist model to rival sleek competitors like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

The iPhone 17 Air has been the subject of growing rumors, and this latest clip lends further credence to suggestions that Apple is embracing a lighter, more streamlined aesthetic. While recent iPhones have used materials such as titanium, this model is reportedly built from series 7000 aluminum — a lightweight yet durable alloy.

In terms of hardware, the device is said to feature a single 48MP rear camera housed in a redesigned module and a 24MP front camera embedded within the Dynamic Island cut-out. According to MajinBu’s blog, the phone will sport an OLED display with Ceramic Shield protection, support for ProMotion technology with a 120Hz refresh rate, and Always-On display capabilities for improved power efficiency. Weighing in at approximately 150 grams, the iPhone 17 Air seems to prioritize portability and sleekness.

Apple has yet to respond to the leak, and the iPhone 17 series is expected to be officially announced in September 2025.
