Google Pay has been launched in Bangladesh
For the first time in Bangladesh, global technology giant Google has officially rolled out its digital payment platform, Google Pay, through a partnership with The City Bank.

The launch ceremony took place today at The Westin Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka, where Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur officially inaugurated the service. This new initiative is the result of a partnership between City Bank, Google, Mastercard, and Visa.
With the launch, City Bank customers can now link their Mastercard or Visa cards to Google Wallet and use Google Pay to make quick, secure, and contactless payments. Leveraging Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, users simply need to tap their Android smartphones on compatible point-of-sale terminals, both domestically and internationally, to complete transactions.
The service incorporates advanced encryption technologies to safeguard customer data, allowing smartphones to function as digital wallets and reducing the need for physical cards.
From booking flights to making daily purchases, Google Pay is poised to revolutionize the payment experience for users.
