ECNEC meeting begins with PM in the chair

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) began its meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday, with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presiding.

It is the third ECNEC meeting of the 2026–27 fiscal year and the eighth since the current government assumed office.

The meeting is set to be the largest under the current government, with 16 major projects involving an estimated total cost of Tk65,517 crore and Tk26 lakh placed for approval.

The projects include several major development initiatives and are being considered as the government moves ahead with its development programme for the current fiscal year.
