DMP Bans Carrying Firearms, Explosives Around DU

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on carrying and displaying all types of firearms and explosives within Dhaka University and its surrounding areas.

A public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali was issued on Monday night in this regard.

The order states that carrying or displaying firearms and explosives will remain prohibited in the specified areas from 8:00 pm on September 8 until 12:00 pm on September 11.

The ban has been enforced under the authority granted by Section 28 (1) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76).

The DMP Commissioner has urged city residents to follow these directives.
