Clashes erupt in Dhaka and Habiganj following Eid holiday, leaving 40 injured.

A violent clash erupted between two groups during a mediation meeting in Lakhai, Habiganj, injuring at least 40 people. The incident occurred around noon on Tuesday in Purba Tegharia Darjihati of the upazila.
According to police and local residents, both groups reside in Mirpur, Dhaka, for business purposes. A dispute between them led to a fight a few days ago. After returning home for the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, a mediation meeting was arranged. However, during the discussion, tensions escalated, resulting in a violent confrontation. Eyewitnesses reported the use of sticks and sharp weapons in the clash.
At least 40 people sustained injuries, with the seriously wounded being taken to Habiganj Sadar Hospital. Two individuals remain in critical condition.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, Lakhai police swiftly intervened to restore order. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bande Ali informed Ajker Newspaper that the situation is now under control, and additional police forces have been deployed to prevent further unrest.
