Chinese delegation holds meeting with BNP

A visiting delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) held a meeting with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) this evening at a hotel in Gulshan.
The BNP delegation, comprising seven members, was led by the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Other members included BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Advisory Council member Ismail Zabiullah, Legal Affairs Secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Foreign Affairs Advisory Committee member Humayun Kabir, Media Cell member Mahmuda Habiba, and ABM Abdus Sattar, retired bureaucrat and Private Secretary to the BNP Chairperson.
Meanwhile, an eight-member CPC delegation, headed by Peng Jiubin from the Southeast and South Asian Affairs Bureau of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting. The delegation also included Chen Xuanbo, Deputy Director of the Bureau; Chen Yangpei, Third Secretary; Zhang Guiyu from the same bureau; Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen; Director of the Political Department at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka Zhang Jing; and Liu Hongru, Attaché at the Embassy’s Political Department.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh Jatiya Dal Chairman Syed Ehsanul Huda also met with Peng Jiubin at the same venue.
