Bangladesh and Malaysia have reaffirmed their confidence that sustained collaboration will further strengthen bilateral relations and deliver tangible benefits for both nations, particularly through greater trade, investment, and industrial cooperation.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury recently met with Saw Seong Ho, Chairman of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Johor Branch, along with other committee members, to explore ways to deepen economic engagement between the two friendly countries, according to a message received here.

During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on expanding bilateral trade and investment, with a focus on industrial collaboration, joint ventures, and enhanced business-to-business partnerships.

The High Commissioner invited the Federation to take part in the upcoming “Global Sourcing Expo 2025,” scheduled to be held in Dhaka from December 1–3, highlighting the event’s potential to facilitate direct linkages between Bangladeshi and Malaysian enterprises.

FMM leaders expressed strong interest in pursuing joint ventures in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector and announced plans to visit Bangladesh soon with a business delegation.

The meeting was attended by FMM Vice Chairman Gerard Sanker; Committee Members Chan Chee Meng, Michael Lok, and Jason; Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Mosammat Shahanara Monica; and First Secretary (Commercial) Pranab Kumar Ghosh.
