Mamunul Haque: Hefazat-e-Islam vows to safeguard Hindus if the state fails to do so
"ISKCON is a terrorist organization, and measures will be taken to stop it."

Hefazat-e-Islam’s General Secretary, Maulana Mamunul Haque, stated that if the state fails to ensure the security of the Hindu community, Hefazat-e-Islam would take responsibility for their protection. He assured that there was no reason for fear but warned against involvement in conspiracies against the country. Haque made these remarks during a public gathering organized by the Khelafat Majlish at the Government Rajendra College Ground in Faridpur on Wednesday.
In his speech, Haque further declared: “ISKCON is a terrorist organization, and it will be stopped. They are attempting to disrupt the country’s peace. ISKCON must be banned immediately, or Hefazat-e-Islam will be compelled to take to the streets. We will ensure the safety of Hindus.”
Commenting on the previous Awami League government, Haque criticized its practices, stating, “The former oppressive regime manipulated the judiciary and administration by appointing its own loyalists and misused law enforcement against the public, leading to its downfall during the 2024 movement. Similar to Sheikh Hasina’s father, who created a reign of terror, the events of 1975 arose from such actions.”
He further accused Sheikh Hasina of engaging in politics of vengeance, saying, “She ultimately turned against even her party’s own members. She has plundered the nation’s banks to the point where people can no longer withdraw their money. She has dismantled the country’s state structure, yet they continue to cling to politics.”
Addressing the current administration, Haque stated: “Your time in power is running out. You must organize a national election within a stipulated timeframe. We do not want the religious scholars of this country to take to the streets to demand elections.”
The meeting, presided over by Maulana Amjad Hossain, featured speeches from other prominent figures, including Maulana Helal Uddin, Maulana Akbar Ali, Maulana Jalal Uddin Ahmed, and Mufti Sharafat Hossain.
