On Sunday, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus called on young people to set their minds on achieving positive change in the country. "I especially encourage young people to dream and envision what they can accomplish. Dreams are the first step toward change. If you dare to dream, change can happen; without a dream, it never will," he said while addressing members of the NDC and AFWC courses at his office in Tejgaon.

"Ask yourself, 'What can I do for the world?' Once you identify your goal, you have the power to achieve it," Prof. Yunus told the youth.

He emphasized that today’s young generation is the most powerful in history, not just because of intelligence, but due to the immense technology they possess. "If you look at recent student movements, technology has been their driving force. Students communicate rapidly, without any hierarchical structure," he added, describing technology as a modern-day "Aladdin's lamp."

Regarding youth-led movements, Prof. Yunus observed that young people in the country envision a new Bangladesh—not motivated by political goals but by a desire to create a better future for themselves.

Touching on global peace, the 2006 Nobel Peace Laureate noted that, ironically, people often harm one another in the name of peace. "Every day, we make declarations about our desire for peace—peace within countries, between countries, and globally," he said. He humorously pointed out the global norm of "defense ministries" in governments, remarking, "If peace is truly the goal, shouldn't we also have peace ministries?"

He suggested that alongside defense attachés, nations should consider appointing peace attachés to foster international harmony.

Prof. Yunus warned that humanity is on a self-destructive path, harming the planet and compromising its future. "We have built a civilization that’s destroying itself," he remarked, highlighting environmental degradation as one example.

He concluded by greeting NDC and AFWC members and wishing them success in their endeavors.
