Chief Adviser directs completion of election preparations by December

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has instructed authorities to complete all necessary preparations by December to ensure law and order during the upcoming general elections.
As part of the plan, around 800,000 security personnel will be deployed for election duties, and 17,000 newly recruited members must complete their training by December, officials decided.
The directives were disclosed by Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Wednesday night, outlining the progress on election readiness.
Shafiqul said the Army would act as a “striking force” to maintain security throughout the polls.
The chief adviser also ordered law enforcement agencies to take a “strict approach” in the months ahead.
Policymakers are additionally considering setting up separate booths for voters aged 18 to 32, the press secretary added.
