An Argentinian court ruled on Tuesday to allow the transfer of football legend Diego Maradona's remains to a public mausoleum in Buenos Aires, following a request from his five children. The San Isidro court granted removal rights to Maradona's children for "humanitarian and emotional reasons," with the timing of the transfer left to the family's discretion. Maradona, who won the 1986 World Cup, was initially buried in a private cemetery about 50km north of Buenos Aires. A public mausoleum is currently being constructed in the upscale neighborhood of Puerto Madero for his remains, a project introduced last year. Meanwhile, several individuals, including healthcare professionals, are facing trial over alleged deficiencies in Maradona's medical care following his 2020 death, which occurred as he was recovering from brain surgery.
