Address the Rohingya repatriation issue at ASEAN to expedite a solution.

Interim government Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, has requested Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to raise and advocate for the Rohingya repatriation issue at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for a swift resolution. During a joint press briefing at a hotel in the capital, Professor Yunus shared that he made the request during their bilateral meeting. "We discussed the safe repatriation of forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals to Myanmar, and we asked the Malaysian Prime Minister to bring up the Rohingya repatriation issue in the ASEAN forum to ensure this prolonged crisis is resolved as quickly as possible," Yunus stated. The Malaysian Prime Minister arrived in Dhaka around 2:00 pm for a brief visit and is expected to depart this evening.
