The Bangladesh Navy has officially inducted 417 new sailors upon the completion of their 22-week bootcamp training.

A colourful graduation parade for the B/2025 batch was held today at the BNS Sher-e-Bangla Parade Ground in Patuakhali.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan inspected the parade as the chief guest and took the salute, according to an ISPR press release.

Admiral Hassan also handed out awards to the top graduates. Rizan Molya earned the prestigious Navy Chief’s Award for securing first place in both professional and overall subjects, while Md. Maruf Hasan Munna and Md. Hasan Ali received the Sher-e-Bangla Padak for ranking second and third.

In his speech, the Navy Chief honoured the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, naval commandos of the Liberation War, and the martyrs of the July–August anti-discrimination movement.

He underscored the Navy’s expanding role in safeguarding national sovereignty, maritime security, and economic interests, urging the new sailors to build themselves into skilled, dedicated members of a modern, technologically advanced, three-dimensional naval force.

Admiral Hassan praised the recruits for choosing the noble path of national service and expressed confidence that they would play a crucial role in protecting Bangladesh’s vast maritime domain and contributing to the country’s future progress.

Senior naval officials, military and civilian dignitaries, local representatives from Patuakhali, Barishal, and Khulna, and families of the graduating sailors were present at the event.
