Workers return to Dhaka after the Eid holidays

After enjoying the festive Eid holidays, residents and workers are gradually returning to their busy routines in the capital, Dhaka.

From the third day of Eid, passenger pressure on river routes toward Dhaka has increased. Since early Monday morning, launches from the southern regions have been arriving at Sadarghat Launch Terminal, bringing back a steady stream of passengers.

Many returning workers said the extended holiday this year made their journeys more comfortable, allowing them to spend quality time with their families. They also expressed relief at completing their return trips without major difficulties.

Meanwhile, the flow of outbound travelers has not subsided even on the third day of Eid. Some people who celebrated in Dhaka are now traveling to their hometowns to visit relatives, with many choosing to travel later to avoid the pre-Eid rush.

Although river transport remains largely normal, the Sadarghat area continues to face post-Eid congestion due to the combined pressure of incoming and outgoing passengers.
