Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus to Meet BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London on June 13

A meeting between Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled for Friday, June 13, in London, as part of Prof. Yunus’s four-day official visit to the United Kingdom.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed the meeting today, stating that it will take place between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM (London time) at the Dorchester Hotel, where the Chief Adviser is staying.

Speaking to reporters at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Fakhrul said, “The Chief Adviser has invited our Acting Chairman. The meeting will be held at the hotel where Prof. Yunus is currently staying.”

He added that the BNP Standing Committee discussed the matter the previous evening and has authorized Tarique Rahman to make decisions regarding the meeting.

Fakhrul described the upcoming meeting as highly significant in the current political context, stating, “I personally believe this is a major development... a very important one.”

He also expressed hope that the discussions could carry meaningful implications for the country’s political landscape.

Prof. Yunus arrived in London today on an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
