Nasir Urges Dhaka University Authorities to Ensure a Free and Transparent Election
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir has alleged that certain Dhaka University teachers are echoing the rhetoric of Islami Chhatra Shibir by making what he termed as “false accusations” of code of conduct violations against his organisation during the DUCSU election.
Speaking to reporters in front of the Udayan School polling centre on Tuesday, Nasir said, “Baseless allegations of violating electoral rules are being made against Chhatra Dal in the DUCSU election. Some Dhaka University teachers are using the language of Shibir, and their behaviour suggests they are working in favour of Shibir-backed candidates.”
He added, “In full compliance with the code of conduct, we have set up Chhatra Dal booths 100 metres away from the polling centres. Yet, Shibir activists are openly campaigning right beside the centres, while the university administration remains silent.”
Nasir urged the Dhaka University authorities to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election.
