The Israeli military reported detecting another wave of missiles launched from Iran, with air defense systems actively attempting to intercept the incoming projectiles. According to The Times of Israel, air raid sirens were triggered in Beersheba and surrounding areas in southern Israel. Quds News Network reported that one missile struck a building in Beersheba.
Yedioth Ahronoth cited confirmation from Beersheba Municipality that the missile directly hit its target, dismissing the possibility that it was debris from an intercepted missile.
Channel 12 News also reported that the Israeli military confirmed the missile was not intercepted by air defense systems.
Several people sustained injuries in the attack, according to multiple news outlets.
The strike sparked fires and sent thick black smoke billowing from the site of impact in southern Israel. Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom released a photo of the scene, stating that no fatalities had been reported so far, and that emergency teams were deployed to the area.
