Shehbaz Invites Yunus To Visit Pakistan

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly at the UN Headquarters and extended an invitation for him to visit Pakistan.

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries through expanded bilateral trade.

Prof Yunus conveyed his condolences over the recent devastating floods in Pakistan, while the Pakistani Prime Minister noted that the disaster was largely a result of climate change and other factors.

National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman was also present at the meeting.

Earlier in August, Bangladesh and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of their peoples, with Bangladesh stressing the importance of deeper cooperation based on mutual respect, understanding, and shared interests.
