Authorities have recovered at least seven children's bodies charred beyond recognition following the jet crash at a school in Uttara, Dhaka, according to Dr Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for the Health Ministry.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Dr Sayedur said officials are working to collect DNA samples from the remains to confirm identities.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported at least 20 fatalities and 171 injuries in the crash. Dr Sayedur added that most of the victims were children, with only around 15 adults among the casualties.
He also stated that enough blood had been secured on Monday to treat the injured, and further collection would not be necessary until Tuesday, when additional supplies may be required.
