Qatar has reaffirmed its full support for Bangladesh's reform agenda, as conveyed by Seraya Ali Al-Qahtani, the Ambassador of the oil-rich Gulf nation, during a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Qahtani conveyed his government's commitment to assisting Bangladesh, stating, "Qatar is eager to provide all sorts of support to Bangladesh."

Expressing gratitude, Chief Adviser Professor Yunus thanked the Emir of Qatar for the support and the close bilateral ties. He emphasized the importance of strengthening trade and investment relations with Qatar, inviting Qatari entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh's economic zones and relocate their factories.

"Bangladesh is now ready for business. We encourage Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities here," he said, adding that Dhaka is set to host an investment summit in early April.

In response, the Qatari ambassador appreciated the invitation and expressed optimism that more entrepreneurs from Qatar would soon visit Bangladesh.

Professor Yunus also outlined his government's reform agenda and the efforts of the consensus commission in facilitating dialogue with political parties. He further mentioned his upcoming visit to Qatar next month to participate in an international conference in the gas-rich Gulf state.
