Prof Yunus Condemns Deadly Kashmir Assault

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday strongly condemned the deadly attack in Kashmir, calling it a heinous act of terrorism.

“We strongly condemn this heinous act. Let me reaffirm Bangladesh's unwavering stance against terrorism,” he said in a message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following the incident. According to an AP report, at least 26 tourists were shot and killed by gunmen on Tuesday at a resort in Indian-administered Kashmir, marking a disturbing shift in the region’s conflict where tourists had largely remained untouched.

“Please accept my deepest condolences over the loss of lives in the terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam,” Yunus said, as quoted by his press secretary Shafiqul Alam to UNB.

The Chief Adviser is currently in Doha, Qatar, attending the Earthna Summit.
