Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan is in Dhaka on a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday night, where Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin received him. Senior officials from the Commerce Ministry and the Foreign Affairs Ministry were also present.

According to a Commerce Ministry press release, the visit will focus on expanding trade, exploring new investment opportunities, and deepening economic cooperation between the two countries. Current trade prospects and avenues for future collaboration will feature prominently in the discussions.

During his stay until August 24, four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed to boost bilateral trade. The minister will also meet senior government leaders and business association representatives.

As part of his programme, he will visit Chattogram Port, a pharmaceutical manufacturer, and a steel plant. The ministry noted that this high-level visit is expected to inject fresh momentum into the longstanding friendly and economic relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
